Great American Restaurants Planned for Gainesville, VA: What We Know About the 2027 Opening

Residents of Gainesville and Western Prince William County have something delicious to look forward to. According to a recent report by Cher Muzyk in the Prince William Times, the renowned Great American Restaurants group is officially planning to bring its upscale-casual dining experience to Gainesville, with a target opening date in 2027.
For years, locals have traveled to Fairfax or Centreville to visit favorites like Sweetwater Tavern, Coastal Flats, and Patsy’s American. Soon, that commute will be a thing of the past.
Where Will the New Great American Restaurant Be Located?
The new restaurant is planned for a 4-acre site at 14100 Whitney Road, situated at the intersection of Linton Hall Road and Gateway Center Drive.

The most well-known light show in NoVA is the Bull Run Festival of Lights. It’s a 2.5-mile drive through some decently nice lights with a pop-up carnival at the end. There’s no music, though, and the price isn’t all that cheap either.
Meadowlark’s Walk of Lights at Botanical Gardens is another option. The trail is a paved half-mile, and for extra festive feels, they have warmed beverages and marshmallow roasting at the end of the road. To enter this light show, tickets have to be purchased online.
