If you've been watching the retail landscape in Northern Virginia shift over the past few years, here's the news you didn't see coming: Whole Foods Market is headed to Sterling.

According to the Washington Business Journal, Amazon — Whole Foods' parent company since 2017 — filed plans this week with Loudoun County to open a new location at 46300 Potomac Run Plaza, right off U.S. Route 7. The space was previously occupied by a Regency Furniture store, which closed its 45,000-square-foot Sterling showroom last year.
