This weekend, October 18 and 19, The Winery at Bull Run is hosting their annual wine festival, and honestly? It's one of my favorite ways to spend an autumn Saturday or Sunday. I'm talking over 20 Virginia wineries all in one spot, pouring their absolute best. No need to drive all over Loudoun County (though I love those weekend vineyard tours too) — it's all right here in Centreville.

Here's what I love about this event: it's not stuffy. You're not standing around pretending to detect "notes of oak and leather" while someone judges your palate. It's Virginia wine at its finest — approachable, delicious, and made by people who genuinely love what they do. Barboursville, Early Mountain, Fabbioli Cellars, Barrel Oak — these are the wineries putting our state on the national wine map, and you get to taste why. The festival is put together by the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association, so you know these are the real deal.
And look, I know not everyone is a wine person. That's why Ono Brewing Company is there too. Plus, you've got food trucks serving everything from Cheesesteak Love to Four Guys, live music all afternoon with bands like DM Shift and On Tap Band, and local artisans selling handmade goods. It's basically a full day of supporting Virginia businesses while enjoying the best weather of the year.
Tickets are $55 for general admission — you get a glass and a tasting pass. Want the VIP treatment? $125 gets you early access, special pours, and a tour of the winery's production facility. Both days run noon to 5 p.m., and they're set up for rain or shine, so don't let the forecast scare you off.
