The 77th Prince William County Fair runs nine days this summer — Friday, July 31 through Saturday, August 8 — on the same 49 acres off Dumfries Road that have hosted it since Harry Truman was president.

It remains the largest county fair in the Commonwealth, and one of the last large pieces of open, community-run ground left on a corridor the rest of Northern Virginia is busy rezoning.

The nightly lineup

High Tea with the Highlands

Scarlet Springs Farm falls is an event and venue space, but really, they do so much more. They’re also a bed & breakfast, a luxury picnic spot, and one of Northern Virginia’s best event hosts. If you’re a Bridgerton fan, then you’ll especially like Scarlet Spring Farms and their latest Bridgerton-inspired function. The farm is planning a high…

From vampire symphonies to waterfront trick-or-treating, here's your guide to the best fall happenings around D.C. and Northern Virginia.

Fall in Northern Virginia hits differently. The air's crisp, the nights are longer, and suddenly everyone's into spooky golf and outdoor movie screenings. If you're wondering how to make the most of October without scrolling endlessly through event pages, I've done the work for you. Here are five events I'm genuinely excited about this month — the kind that make for great weekends and even better content.

PUTT in the Park

CityCenterDC is running through November 2, and it's become my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for a low-pressure outing. Six holes of mini golf tucked between shops and…

Okay, real talk — if you're not taking advantage of Virginia wine country this fall, you're missing out on one of the best perks of living in Northern Virginia.

This weekend, October 18 and 19, The Winery at Bull Run is hosting their annual wine festival, and honestly? It's one of my favorite ways to spend an autumn Saturday or Sunday. I'm talking over 20 Virginia wineries all in one spot, pouring their absolute best. No need to drive all over Loudoun County (though I love those weekend vineyard tours too) — it's all right here in Centreville.

Here's what I love about this event: it's not stuffy. You're not standing around pretending to detect "notes of oak and leather" while someone judges your palate. It's Virginia wine at its finest —…

If you've ever driven past the National Botanic Garden in Chantilly and wondered what's behind those gates, here's your chance to find out — in costume.

On October 25-26, the garden is hosting Cosplay Enchantment in the Gardens, and honestly? It's about time. This is the first cosplay event at the 250-acre property, which sits tucked away on Peter and Baela Knop's private family farm. The Knops have spent years designing this place with an ambitious goal: fulfilling George Washington's dream of a National Botanic Garden — something largely unrealized on the National Mall due to development, but now possible here in the Virginia suburbs.

Here's the thing — the garden only opens once a month from April to November for special events, so access is…

Sky's the Limit: Leesburg Airshow Takes Flight!

Hey NoVA neighbors!

Can you hear that? It's not just the distant rumble of traffic on Route 7 – that's the sound of anticipation building for one of our area's most spectacular events. The Leesburg Airshow is roaring back on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 AM to 4 PM at Leesburg Executive Airport, and trust me, you don't want to miss this sky-high celebration.

Picture this: You're standing on the tarmac, the Virginia sun warming your face, when suddenly a sleek aerobatic aircraft screams overhead in a death-defying maneuver that makes your heart skip a beat. Kids are pointing skyward with ice cream-sticky fingers, parents are snapping photos faster than their phones can handle, and somewhere…
