Washington, D.C. is set to get something completely new: a $500 million European-style wellness resort and indoor waterpark called Therme DC. Developed by Therme Group, a global operator of thermal bath and wellness destinations, the resort will anchor the redevelopment of Poplar Point, a 110-acre stretch of land along the Anacostia River in Ward 8, just across the river from Nationals Park.

When complete, Therme DC will span roughly 500,000 square feet on 15 of those acres, with thermal baths, dozens of saunas and steam rooms, indoor and outdoor waterslides, swim-up bars, botanical gardens, and adult-only relaxation zones. It is Therme Group's first U.S. project and one of the largest planned wellness developments anywhere in the country.

Prince William County Real Estate Update: Summer Market Cools While Inventory Heats Up header image.

By Real Nova Network – July 2025

After a bustling spring season, Prince William County’s real estate market is showing signs of cooling down as we move into the heart of summer. While prices remain stable, transaction volume continues its year-over-year slide — creating a more balanced landscape for both buyers and sellers in this historically fast-paced Northern Virginia market.

New pending contracts also dipped, with 503 homes going under contract, signaling a potential slowdown ahead. For context, that’s about 21% below the county’s five-year June average.

“This isn’t 2021 or even 2023,” said Chris…
