People enjoying international food at an outdoor festival in Northern Virginia

The International Food Festival, a beloved celebration of global cuisine and culture, is expanding its reach this year, coming to both Manassas and Sterling, Virginia. Known for bringing together diverse communities through delicious food, vibrant entertainment, and rich cultural experiences, this festival promises a culinary journey around the world without ever leaving Northern Virginia.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the festival will debut at the Dulles Town Center in Sterling, marking the first time the event expands beyond its original home in Manassas. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing ample time for visitors to explore a wide array of international dishes, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

"This festival isn't just about food; it's about community," says event organizer Emma Lopez. "We wanted to bring the experience to more people, and Sterling was a natural choice due to its diverse population and enthusiasm for cultural events."

The event will feature over 30 vendors serving authentic dishes from various global traditions. Attendees can look forward to sampling flavorful Caribbean jerk chicken, savory Indian curries, aromatic Middle Eastern falafel, and freshly made Taiwanese street snacks, among other international favorites.

In addition to the impressive culinary lineup, the festival will host an array of live performances designed to immerse attendees in diverse cultural traditions. Dance groups, musicians, and artists representing cultures from around the world will take the stage, offering both entertainment and education.

Families are encouraged to attend, as the festival includes activities specifically designed for younger visitors, such as face painting, storytelling sessions, interactive games, and educational workshops.

The festival's original location in Manassas has become a staple community event, regularly attracting thousands of visitors from across the region. Its expansion to Sterling is expected to draw similarly large crowds, reflecting the growing demand for inclusive, culturally enriching community gatherings.

"The International Food Festival has become more than just an event; it's now a tradition that celebrates the incredible diversity and unity of our community," says Lopez. "We’re thrilled to bring this joyous occasion to Sterling, and we can't wait for everyone to experience what makes this festival so special."

Admission to the festival is free, ensuring broad community access, though attendees should note that food and beverages will be available for purchase from individual vendors.
