IndyCar May Be Headed to the National Mall for America’s 250th Birthday

A proposal that sounds almost unbelievable is gaining traction in Washington: an IndyCar street race on the National Mall.
According to reporting by the Washington Business Journal, the Trump administration is exploring plans to bring an IndyCar Grand Prix to the heart of Washington, D.C. as part of the nation’s 250th birthday celebration later this year.
What’s Being Proposed
Multiple reports say the race would be led by U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and staged as a one-day, high-profile event highlighting American motorsports, tourism, and national landmarks.
