Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is opening a $900 million destination resort in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on November 12, 2026 — and this could become one of the biggest development stories along the I-95 corridor between Northern Virginia and Richmond.

The project is massive: approximately 1.38 million square feet, 907 hotel rooms and suites, Virginia's largest indoor waterpark, a 90,000-square-foot indoor adventure park, 150,000 square feet of convention space, restaurants, retail, and a major seasonal outdoor waterpark.

And unlike many major development projects that are still years away, this one is almost here.
