If you’ve lived in Prince William County for a while, you know that the restaurant scene around Potomac Mills is always evolving. But this latest news is a heavy hitter for the local food scene. According to the Washington Business Journal, Darden Restaurants is officially sunsetting the Bahama Breeze brand, and our Woodbridge location is on the chopping block.
This isn’t just a "rebrand" for us—it’s a permanent closure. While some locations across the country are being converted into other Darden staples like Yard House or Ruth’s Chris, the Woodbridge spot at 2714 Potomac Mills Circle is one of 14 designated to close for good.
Why This Matters for Woodbridge Real Estate
As someone who has my boots on the ground in Northern Virginia real estate, I’m always looking at the "why" behind these shifts. This location has been a landmark since January 2013. It’s a prime pad site right next to the mall.
When a major brand like this exits, it creates a massive opportunity for something new. Darden already dominates the immediate area with Olive Garden, LongHorn, and Chuy’s, so seeing what takes over this footprint will be a major indicator of where the Potomac Mills retail market is heading in 2026.
Your Last Chance for a Taste of the Islands
You don't have much time left. According to the Washington Business Journal, the restaurant is expected to keep the doors open through April 5, 2026. If you’re a fan of their coconut shrimp or that island vibe, you’ll want to get down there before the spring.
The company has stated they are focused on placing as many team members as possible into other roles within the Darden portfolio, which is great news for the local staff we’ve grown to know over the last 13 years.
